We design websites with the client’s short and long term goals in mind. We have found that at some point every client wants to be able to make “small changes” themselves. However, most clients realize they are not web developers and prefer we do the major stuff and then teach them how to do the little things as they need to. We will discuss your needs and interests with you and then recommend the best software platform for us to build your site in — based on your responses.
Since the only thing consistent in web design and development tools is change, what is available and we recommend today may not be the same as what is available and we recommend in six months. It is our job to stay up-to-date with the latest, most cost effective foundational software and ask you the questions that will help us guide your decision on how much you should spend for your base website. We work hard to remind our clients (and potential clients) that their needs will change and encourage them to think short and long term during the initial website planning stages.
All of our custom built websites include basic search engine optimization of at least the home page for one keyword phrase.
Search Engine Optimization (SEO)/Search Engine Marketing
Search Engine Optimization (key word optimization) is the process of editing your website’s content (words, images, page titles, meta tags and more) to insure the search engine’s know what your site is about. Search Engine Marketing is the process of exposing your website to the search engines including, but not limited to, pay per click (Ad Words) advertising, getting your site listed in the top ten directories (local & national such as Yahoo Local and Google Local) and getting you inbound links.
Search Engine Marketing, performed without first optimizing your website, is futile and a waste of money. Thus, our SEO/SEM packages are intended to be well rounded and get you long term results.
Do-It-Yourself Website Building Tools
Once the cornerstone of our business, we still offer one of the best “build your own website” tools on the market. Originally known as the SiteBuilder Now Website Builder, we still support any customer that has the time and interest in building and managing their own website. In 2011 we have built a new “build your own website” toolbox which can be found at http://betterwebsitebuilders.com. These tools are for the person that learns well by using our video and written tutorials and is not expecting any support, outside of occassional technical support. By minimizing our input we are able to keep your costs down.
Building your own website is very cost effective. Additionally, if you read our articles on search engine optimization and use the built-in search engine optimization tools provided with our website builders, we are confident your website can be as successful as any site that we build for you – it’s not rocket science, but it does require you take the time to study and apply the knowledge that is available to you.
